The Eyes of Ballard

Florida Politics wrote a story detailing a new Downtown partnership between two unlikely forces. WeatherSTEM, a local tech company, and Ballard Partners, Tallahassee lobbyist turned national heavy hitter, have teamed up to install a weather monitoring unit atop the newly constructed Ballard Building at 201 E Park Ave. This new addition to our downtown provides us with seamless weather data along with a live video feed of our Capitol.

The Atlantic hurricane season has 77 more days to go.

Waffle House West

It's finally time. Years of planning, public investment, growth in population density, and the fervent work of our business partners have culminated in this. Tallahassee is poised for its 8th Waffle House location, at 2230 W. Pensacola St. God bless the Great State of Florida.

COT Traffic Flow Improvements

Long requested by students and pass-through traffic, the City of Tallahassee has announced the introduction of additional traffic control measures at the intersection of Chapel and West Call. COT's action is appreciated and will likely ease congestion and facilitate pedestrian movement in the area.

Cigars of Tally

A mainstay of Market Square is making its way to Central Tallahassee. Cigars of Tally plans to renovate the existing vacant building at 926 North Monroe for a new location. It is not lost on the author that over the last half century, most of our commercial activity fled Downtown for shopping centers elsewhere. Welcome back.

Caribbean Crossroads

South Monroe may be due for a new restaurant, according to plans which were briefly submitted to GM before being withdrawn. The plans show a burgeoning redevelopment concept for the existing building at 2025 South Monroe. Caribbean Crossroads is working in partnership with the City of Tallahassee's DesignWorks team to draw up a brick and mortar concept for their intended relocation to Southside.
